I am a customer and my vehicle needs repairs. How do I get this fixed?

Give us a call between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and we can schedule you an appointment.

What’s the difference between a client and a customer?

Customers are those with the ability to pay for competitively priced services similar to anything offered by a traditional garage.
Clients are those who face financial challenges and can become qualified to receive repairs for the cost of parts by going through a qualification process outlined here. 

 

To qualify for vehicle repairs, clients must:

  • Live or work in Midland County

  • Earn within 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines (click here to view these numbers)

  • Show proof of ownership for the vehicle that needs repairs

 

Clients who meet the above eligibility requirements are pre-qualified by an approved social service agency by filling out a referral form.

 

The social service agencies we work with include:

  • The Salvation Army (TSA)

  • Senior Services

  • Department of Human Services (DHS)

  • Mid-Michigan Community Action Agency (MMCAA)

  • Midland Area Homes (MAH)

  • Disability Network

 

Once pre-qualified, you may call to schedule an appointment to diagnose the problem, determine the parts and labor needed and agree upon the cost of parts.

We are located at 1550 S. Poseyville Road in Midland, Michigan, right behind Messiah Church on the corner of Gordonville and Poseyville roads.

If I’m a customer, how am I helping those who are facing financial challenges receive car repairs?

Fees received from full-paying customers are used to cover operating costs and assist those with limited means. With the continued business from full-pay customers, we can help break the cycle of poverty.

What are the eligibility requirements to become a client?

To qualify for vehicle repairs, clients must:

  • Live or work in Midland County

  • Earn less than two times the Federal Poverty Guidelines

  • Have proof of ownership for the vehicle that needs repairs

What agencies do you work with to pre-qualify clients?

To become pre-qualified, you first must meet the eligibility requirements listed above, as well as show proof of income—whether that is through a W2 form or pay stub—to the agency you are working with to get qualified. If you bring a proof of income to The Salvation Army, located at 330 Waldo in Midland, they can qualify you on the spot.

Are you really a ministry of a church?

Yes. His Hands Auto is a ministry of Messiah. Our mission is to lift families by helping to provide safe and reliable transportation and interrupt the cycle of poverty.

I don’t live or work in Midland. Can I still receive repairs for the cost of parts as a client?

Due to our amount of resources, we can only serve clients that live or work in Midland County.

I think something is wrong with my vehicle’s transmission. Can you help me?

We perform a variety of services, but we do not do transmission work at this time.

Can I volunteer at His Hands Auto Care?

Absolutely. We welcome volunteers to help us serve the community and provide reliable transportation to customers and clients.
